Verdict
Freddie The Third can make experience count over Merlin's Magic, Mey Clouds and Bold Policy to name but a few. Although Freddie The Third is saddled with a penalty for his pillar-to-post success at Warwick in January, he will find today's opposition a lot less daunting than the company he faced in a Class 1 contest at Newbury last time, and should bounce back. Related to useful chaser McKelvey on the dam's side, he should pay to follow in the future, but for now can add to his bumper haul. Merlin's Magic shaped with a degree of promise back in January and has been given time to strengthen up, so has to be on the short-list. Mey Clouds has found one too good on each of his last two starts, but should be found a suitable opportunity in time, while Bold Policy hails from a stable that always does well in this sphere. Any support for the Greystoke newcomer Silver Steel would be interesting, while the market may also reveal which of the two Irish stablemates is most preferred. The class of Freddie The Third should see him through though.
