In depth

Verdict

LOWANBEHOLD (NAP) is yet another down to run on the first day of the meeting but would still be the choice if going to the well once again. He's done really well for Sandy Forster since leaving the point-to-point arena and more improvement is anticipated over the larger obstacles. Trip and ground are fine and he's struck up a good rapport with Jamie Hamilton. Course and distance winner Imjoeking looked a promising chaser in the making when scoring at Hexham in the summer of 2014 but has clearly had training issues. It would be good to see him go well here for the Russell team. Gleann Na Ndochais is not discounted but should the selection not turn up then Royal Macnab would be the choice as the course and distance winner is a model of consistency and looks nicely treated.
