Verdict

Cork winner Brutal bids to bounce back from an unexpected reverse at Killarney. He’d looked a nice prospect on debut and his experience will stand him in good stead against a field of newcomers, though he does have a penalty. BODACIOUS NAME (NAP) won over 2m on heavy going on the Flat and was second over 1m6f on a similar surface at Carlisle when last seen. Ground and trip won’t be a problem on that evidence and he’ll have had plenty of schooling so should go close. Eneko won over 1m4f in France but is having his first run for connections and there are going concerns surrounding Akkadian Empire. Geophony, a rare runner over jumps for Mark Johnston, may struggle to last home.
