      Verdict

Dome Run didn't really build on his Sedgefield third at Kelso next time but his experience could prove invaluable in this. Watledge hinted at ability in the autumn but it will be disappointing if there isn't at least one newcomer with more scope in this. Solway Brook is a half-sister to a couple of useful jumpers while Anitopia is a full brother to bumper winner Primrose Time. But Howard Johnson's VIKING CHIEF, by smart stayer Westerner out of useful bumper and hurdler Diamond Sal, is a stand-out on breeding and can make a winning debut.
