In depth

Verdict

Paul Carberry rides for Gordon Elliott in the opener here but has opted to keep faith with Colin McBratney's Sir Walter Raleigh in this. Fifth in a Down Royal handicap earlier this month, the four-year-old has decent claims back in a maiden hurdle. Elliott saddles Tipperary bumper winner Golden Call and he can't be ignored, while Lucinda Russell's French import Tap Night made a promising start over timber over C&D. REAPING THE REWARD could be worth another chance, however, after clearly finding 2m1f too sharp at Cartmel last time. That form has worked out well and the lightly-raced seven-year-old looks a better bet than Jacks Grey and Tekthelot here.
