Verdict

Former Sir Michael Stoute inmate MAWAQEET is going the right way over hurdles, albeit rather more steadily than might have been expected. He failed, somewhat disappointingly, to take advantage of a 7lb concession from Bonobo at Bangor last time on just his second start over timber but did stay very well on the Flat and maybe this step-up in trip will reveal him in a better light. Seismic, a dual Flat winner in May, ran the best of his three hurdles outings here earlier this month but flopped at Sligo subsequently, whilst The Chief Villain was far too keen for his own good when fading out of contention behind stablemate Dr Moloney here last time. However, he was the subject of good support that day and should be capable of better.
