Brandon Castle started favourite for this in 2019 but only beat one home. However, he is guaranteed to make this a good gallop and that should help Diego Du Charmil and also NATURAL HISTORY. The latter pulled much too hard in the Imperial Cup at Sandown last month and was soon beaten. But he remains unexposed and will have something to aim at here. Sebastopol and Fugitives Drift would both enter calculations on their best form but this looks a big ask for both Sacre Coeur and Limelighter.
Diego Du Charmil (FR) 50-1 (11-7) Held up last, good headway into 3rd before 3 out, weakened quickly before next, last of 5, dist behind Silver Streak (11-7) at Kempton 2m (1) gs in Dec.
Sebastopol (IRE) 13-2 (11-12) Tracked leader, ridden and weakened before 2 out, 8th of 9, dist behind Flash Collonges (11-7) at Kelso 2m 5f hcp (2) gs in Mar.
Brandon Castle 28-1 (11-12) Towards rear, headway to chase leaders before 2 out, no impression after last, 5th of 11, 14 1/4l behind Buzz (11-11) at Ascot 2m hcp (2) sft in Nov.
Fugitives Drift (IRE) 9-4fav (11-12) Held up in mid-division, drifted towards rear 3 out, under pressure soon after and little response, faded, 6th of 7, 33 1/4l behind Dans Le Vent (11-3) at Hereford 2m 4f hcp (2) sft in Dec.
Sacre Coeur (FR) 80-1 (10-8) Held up in rear, not fluent 2nd, jumped right 3rd, detached 7th, no extra, last of 4, dist behind Allmankind (11-3) at Warwick 2m (1) sft in Feb.
Natural History 2-1fav (10-12) Raced keenly, led, narrowly headed but still held together 3 out, weakened rapidly before next, 6th of 9, 28l behind Langer Dan (10-10) at Sandown 2m hcp (1) sft in Mar.
Limelighter 9-1 (10-10) Raced keenly tracking leaders, good headway 5th, chasing leaders when stumbled badly and almost unseated rider after 3 out, pulled up before next, at Plumpton 2m hcp (3) gf in Sep.
