In depth

Verdict

Thirty Five Black rates the percentage call ahead of Otto des Pictons and Chaim. The David Johnson owned six-year-old was nicely backed for his debut under rules at Exeter and accordingly delivered. He left the impression that there was more to come and we see no reason to go elsewhere.Otto des Pictons has ran green on both starts thus far and is surely capable of better. His form is nothing special but improvement is likely. Chaim has failed to build on the success of his Uttoxeter bumper. He handles the ground adequately enough and the market is watched. The Sawyer delivered an improved effort on his latest start but is interestingly dropped in trip. A race that should throw up a few future winners and Thirty Five Black looks the best bet to fill that spot this afternoon.
