Verdict
The most valuable race on the card has attracted a competitive field with a number of leading contenders but What's The Count is the tentative choice to prevail. The son of Theatrical Charmer is still a maiden but remains relatively lightly raced and showed plenty of promise when a staying-on runner-up in a novice event at Folkestone late last month. The seven-year-old was well clear of the third and will appreciate the step up in trip as well as the conditions so should go well under Ruby Walsh. Sonny Jim is unproven over the trip but shapes as though he will stay and is a danger on his string of consistent efforts of late while December's Exeter winner Madam Mosso failed to last home over further last time and has to be respected particularly with A P McCoy on board. Veteran Leggies Legacy goes well here with two course wins including last time out when accounting for suspect stayer Diamonds Will (fourth) and the disappointing Bigwig (seventh) and may be able to confirm the form despite a subsequent 3lb rise.
