Verdict

A poor event can see Son of Greek Myth finally come good at the expense of Canni Thinkaar, with Eight Ellington perhaps one to watch at a decent price. Trainer Gary Moore has two runners in this run-of-the-mill claimer, but with Tony McCoy booked for Son of Greek Myth, he will get the strong handling needed to put his previous disappointments behind him. The son of Silver Hawk has yet to open his account either over hurdles or on the Flat, but was only just touched off by Killing Me Softly in a better race than this at Huntingdon recently, and the drop to claiming class should do the trick. A P has ridden him once before, at Fontwell in October when the partnership finished second, so hopes are high that he can go one better today. Canni Thinker has been beaten on three visits here, but if he tries to lead today, can make the selection pull out all the stops. Eight Ellington finally got his act together on the all-weather in January and although down the field on his Bangor debut last week, may improve in time for his new stable. The rest make absolutely no appeal, and Son of Greek Myth has his best chance yet.
