In depth

Verdict

Jeczmien was raised 11lb for scoring at Taunton last month and ran poorly at Ludlow a couple of weeks later which suggests he is too high in the weights. Winning point-to-pointer Mister Matt is still a maiden under Rules and has has plenty of chances while High Oscar is better over further. Sumdancer likes it around here but is in very poor form at present and is held by The Hardy Boy on their run here a year ago. The lightly-raced Paddy The Yank showed a bit more promise at Fontwell last week and could prove a threat though RILEYEV looks the answer. Venetia Williams' charge has finally got his act together over fences and though it wasn't a great race he won at Newton Abbot last week a 7lb penalty shouldn't prove too much of a burden on his way to a quick double.
