Verdict
Kuwait Star's end of season double came in heavy ground over 7f and he has something to prove stepping up in trip on his reappearance. Blades Lad couldn't cope with a 6lb rise and the drop back to today's distance at Newcastle last time having won over 1m3f at Southwell in March and GOLD SHOW is preferred. The latter returned to action with victory over course and distance and a 4lb rise in the weights may not be enough to prevent him going in again. Pertuis won an amateurs race over track and trip last summer and makes more appeal off his current mark than Special Mix, who is fit from hurdling.
