        Verdict

        The veteran VAN GERWEN is the sporting selection in a tough handicap as he has won three times around here. He's one of four from Paul Midgley's yard and Sherdil is better than he showed at Doncaster on Saturday, where he stopped very quickly, after completing a double at Beverley when he twice had Vaunted behind. Lost My Sock has looked a bit high in the weights after going up 7lb for scoring at Ripon while Melody King was behind the selection at Nottingham in June.
