In depth
Verdict
The card gets underway with a very tricky lady amateur riders event that may fall to Valeureux with First Maite and Larad the likely dangers. James Hetherton's six-year-old had a successful hurdling campaign over the winter and looked to be coming back to his best on the flat last time out when finishing a seven length third to Realism in a better race over course and distance. He is ably assisted by one of the best lady riders around and has very strong claims. First Maite appears to be the main threat to the selection, the eleven-year-old hasn't visited the winners enclosure for some time, but showed he still has the ability to win races when finishing runner up to Night Market in a similar race to this at Warwick. Larad is steadily dropping down to a handy mark and is another to consider, but Valeureux is expected improve for his recent effort and can land this modest event.
