      Verdict

      AVA GO JOE (NAP) just failed to follow up his maiden victory at Beverley when beaten half-a-length back there on Friday where the winner was receiving 10lb. He's still progressing and can get back on the winning trail. Virginia Plane scored on fast ground at Catterick and the Polytrack at Lingfield and led for a long way in a much better race than this at Chester so looks a threat. Redcar winner Navajo Spring looked a few pounds high back there last time though he's very closely matched with Sound Reason on an earlier run there. Ehrmann's victory came at Southwell though his best Turf runs have been on soft ground.
