          Verdict

          There is a massive turnout for this ladies affair, but with experience in the saddle likely to be a deciding factor, the Annie Elsey-ridden Kingsdon is taken to get the better of The Fairy Flag, Great View and Our Glenard. Kingsdon has been plying his trade in lowly company since scoring off marks in the 80's and 90's when with Richard Hannon, and has started to come to himself of late. In need of his return in a similar race to this at Beverley, he improved markedly at Newcastle when, ridden by Nicky Tinkler, he went down by less than two lengths to Repulse Bay. Annie Elsey, who sat on him at Beverley, is back in the plate, and as he should have come on a few pounds, is sure to be in at the finish, especially with his low draw. Great View has the assistance of one of the best ladies around, Carol Williams, and has been there or thereabouts on a few occasions this season, notably at Warwick the time before last-will he stay the trip though? The Fairy Flag is drawn widest of all in stall 19 and has topweight, so will do well to repeat her recent Haydock success that came on softer ground. Mawhoob and So Sure have both posted victories of late, while Orangino ran well enough at Redcar to warrant each-way claims, but in an open event it is Kingsdon who gets the vote.
