Verdict

ELTANIN caught the eye making up late ground over 5f at York on his debut. John Quinn’s colt should prove suited to this extra distance and is preferred to Bengal Lancer. The latter has shown some ability in both starts to date without troubling the judges. Silk Mill Blue may improve but Snuggy and Vatican Hill went backwards last time and Tony Hamilton prefers the latter’s stablemate and newcomer Belle Meade. She is a half-sister to a couple of winners, while Rag Tatter is related to the sprint handicapper Confessional, who coincidentally runs later on the card, and could also go well.
