        Verdict

        Richard Whittaker has won the last two of these, Round The Island scoring last year and Penny Pot Lane winning the year before. The former hasn't won subsequently and is now 13lb lower but was beaten off this mark at Carlisle last time and is 2lb out of the handicap. His stable companion was behind him at Carlisle though didn't enjoy the soft ground and could reverse the form. However, HIC BIBI, a dual winner in the spring, finished a close fourth and as she was returning from a long break she looks to have every chance of returning to winning ways. Atletico has a poor strike-rate and hasn't won since 2017 though he's been consistent enough at this level and should be competitive. Echo Of Lightning has won eight times but rarely runs over a trip this short nowadays while Bedtime Bella's victories last month were gained on ground with plenty of give.
