Micky Hammond's Raleigh Quay was good value for his narrow success in a maiden auction event at Musselburgh when last seen in August but a 7lb rise for that win and a faster surface today may prevent him from following up and a better bet looks to be MIGHTY CLARETS, who gets the vote ahead of Landowner. Saeed Bin Suroor's colt is less exposed than his most of his rivals after just two starts, latterly when winning a Warwick maiden but a mark of 74 after that victory looks a shade high and he may have to settle for a place at best. Richard Hannon's Deely Plaza has been dropped a couple of pounds since his nursery debut at Windsor last week but probably needs more help, while Mark Johnston's Bintalaleumydarlin has been well beaten in all four starts and is strictly held by Raleigh Quay on Musselburgh running. Karen McLintock's Mason Hindmarsh has been given a chance by the handicapper and could not be better drawn than in stall one but a better bet looks to be Mighty Clarets. Richard Fahey's team continues in fine form and the son of Whipper looks worth another chance having only been raised 1lb since his close fourth behind Truly Magic at Leicester last week.
