In depth

Verdict

Commanche Raider won over 5f here last month and has yet to score over today's trip while the inconsistent Secret City never looked like winning last time having scored at Thirsk before that. Half A Crown is another to have won at Thirsk in between distinctly modest efforts though Powerful Pierre may bounce back to form as he won last year's renewal off a higher mark. DREAM CATCHER is a winner without a penalty having landed an apprentice's race at Windsor recently under today's rider and Henry Candy's sprinter is taken to follow-up as he's still well handicapped on the best of his form. Dickie Le Davoir pops up at this level when in the mood and makes most appeal of the remainder.
