Verdict

Dubai Success looked something special on debut and he is expected to land the prize ahead of Loweswater and King's Thought. The wide margin winner of a Ripon maiden had had the benefit of a private trials race at Dubai before his British debut and he firmly put a fair bunch of maidens in their place. He is a half-brother to top-class two year old Crystal Music and to Lancashire Oaks winner State Crystal so there should be no questions about the trip. Loweswater was second to Island Light at Chepstow in a similar event. Again, he has to give weight away to an improving type and he may well have to settle for silver medal. King's Thought is thought to be en route to a hurdling campaign for Steve Gollings. Kieren Fallon is a positive but there are still questions about his true effectiveness on this surface at this level. Garros has not reproduced anything of the spark he showed as a juvenile but is respected from a yard in form. Derwent has it to do on the book but has won two races at the course. We though will side with the improving Dubai Success to follow up his recent Ripon victory.
