Verdict
A moderate contest to end with. Kylkenny is probably better on the All-Weather surface, while a similar comment also applies to Moyne Pleasure, a winner of seven races on the sand. Of the older horses Smoothie looks the pick. He failed to stay when tried over further at Warwick on Saturday and back over his optimum trip he looks sure to run his race. Night Driver is a disappointing sort, so a chance is taken with Solomon's Mine even though he has yet to win on turf. He has faced a couple of stiff tasks of late and this represents a drop in class for Mark Polglase's gelding.
