In depth

Verdict

Several of there are capable of improving on ordinary debuts. That list includes Lingfield fifth Quantum Force and Treasure Time, who has been gelded since swerving on leaving the stalls at Newbury in June. Rebel Icon finished last at York but will know more today. Bateman is a very interesting newcomer as his yard is in good form. He is a half-brother to four winners including Barbill, a Listed winner in France at two, but we’ll rely on the experience of FLAVOUR MAKER, who would have gone close to beating favourite Fool’s Gold at Windsor earlier this month had he not hung in the closing stages. Newcastle runner-up Triggerman and the improving Sala Da Ballo can also play a part.
