Verdict
Two very interesting newcomers here in Salinger and Alumni, but we will take a chance on the once raced Taakeed. Michael Jarvis has his string in top form at present and this son of Mark Of Esteem can add to his recent tally. He made his racecourse debut in a hot maiden at Newmarket in October and was given a tender ride by Philip Robinson. He is expected to make a decent three-year-old and can go in here at a decent price. Salinger is trained by Peter Chapple-Hyam and is related to numerous winners, including the top class two-year-old Peter Davies, he will know his job first time out and should be monitored for any market move. The same applies to the Barry Hills trained Alumni, a filly bred in the purple being by Selkirk out of a mare sired by The Minstrel. The Mick Channon trained Royal Jet may prove best of the others, but in a race where the market will prove invaluable Taakeed just gets the verdict.
