Verdict
POKER FACE came here twice as a juvenile and won easily both times. He's been competing at pattern race level this season and can gain his third track success. Al Mubhir was well supported for a Haydock Listed contest after winning a Leicester handicap and, though a bit disappointing, was found to have lost a shoe. Eight-times winner Excel Power hasn't run since January but Raadobarg, who won last year's Irish Lincoln, ran two fine races over this trip before finding 1m2f beyond him in the Wolferton at Ascot. Surprise Buckingham Palace Handicap winner Witch Hunter has run well in Group 3 and Listed company subsequently while the three-year-old Flight Plan ran in the 2000 Guineas and the Jersey Stakes so this is a big drop in class.
