FREEWHEELIN DYLAN created a 150/1 shock in the Irish National though it was no fluke as he made all and never looked likely to be caught. He's 8lb higher but that was his sixth victory in staying races over fences and he's won on this track. Mister Fogpatches ran a fine race in the Scottish National so the trip holds no terrors while Dounikos takes a drop in class and looks best of his stable's pair with Jack Kennedy on board. Smoking Gun has also won around here and is slowly dropping to a winnable mark while Brace Yourself was impeded at the first in the Irish National and is much better than that. The veteran Anibale Fly should find this less demanding than running in Gold Cups and Grand Nationals though it's two years since he ran well over fences. Some Neck, third behind Tiger Roll in the Cross Country at Cheltenham, had an eventful run in the La Touche on Thursday before slipping up after the last.
