In depth

Verdict

The chasing debut of CHAMPAGNE FEVER has been much anticipated. The brilliant winner of the championship bumpers at Cheltenham and here last year, and of two further Grade 1's over timber last season, he wasn't at his best behind Jezki at this year's Festival here but is already being touted as a likely champion of the novice chase division. Rogue Angel is another smart prospect and may have made a winning debut over fences but for falling at the last here last month. He couldn't match strides with Sizing Rio in a Grade 3 at Cork subsequently but will ensure the selection has a good test. Archie Meade has been disappointing so far over fences and Our Vinnie is likely to prove more of a threat as he is a very useful hurdler who will have come on a bundle for his opening run over the bigger obstacles here last month. Marlbrook is another interesting entry in what should be a race to savour.
