In depth

Verdict

Leading owner J P McManus has four entries here, all with chances. Rock On Fruity has been in good form with a narrow defeat over a trip much too short in a Roscommon Grade 3 the highlight. Close Shave makes his handicap debut over fences after showing his liking for this trip at Thurles though COEUR JOYEUX may prove best of the quartet. An easy winner on heavy going at Sligo, he was in touch when falling at the last at Galway before finding 2m4f just too short at Clonmel. White Arm is another for the owner and though having a long absence to overcome he was in fine form in the spring and his trainer knows how to get one ready. Velocity Boy gained his only victory over fences with an impressive performance here in February while First To Boogie arrives in winning form after scoring at Naas last week where he was always travelling well before being left clear at the last. Laid Back Luke is another with chances in a wide-open handicap.
