In depth
Verdict
MIKAEL D'HAGUENET continues to frustrate and is unlikely ever to reach the heights expected of him. However, he's generally run well on this track and didn't perform badly in the Powers Gold Cup at Fairyhouse last time when subsequent Grade 1 winner Mount Benbulben was behind. He's handed the vote over stablemate Aupcharlie, who was fancied for the Jewson at Cheltenham but never got going after a couple of early mistakes. Dylan Ross had subsequent RSA Chase winer Lord Windermere behind at Navan in November but hasn't progressed as expected while Toner D'Oudairies has some catching up to do if he's to get competitive as he's held by a couple of these on his early chase form.
