There could hardly be a tougher start to proceedings. Fine Theatre makes his handicap debut and faces a very stiff task though he should be winning again soon and Luke Dempsey's claim will help. Nickname Exit is also thrown in at the deep end after landing a maiden over the minimum trip at Clonmel though his stable had plenty of options. Clonbanon Lad is probably better over fences these days while Egyptian Warrior, another making his handicap debut over timber, would prefer quicker ground though would have a chance under those conditions. Riviera Sun looked a smart prospect when cantering all over some moderate rivals in a Limerick maiden and the assessor could have underestimated him while Westerners Son showed the battling qualities at Cork that should stand him in good stead here. EIGHT TILL LATE needs holding up until the last minute, as he was at Wexford last time. Stephen Gray is one of the more experienced riders in the race and hopefully can produce his mount where it matters.
