The complexion of this would change if Present Soldier were to run here instead of the 3.17 at Naas yesterday. In his likely absence DIVERGE, a winner at Longchamp in 2021, is handed the vote after a fair debut behind the smart High Definition at Leopardstown on St Stephen's Day. Slanagaibhgoleir was only a couple of lengths behind after staying on well but Privilege, who had shown up well on the latter track just over a year ago, looked in need of the run and was well beaten. Mon Coeur has done very well in bumpers, easily scoring at Killarney in July, while Tophill Low ran very well behind Hunters Yarn at Naas three weeks ago.
