Verdict

MITCHOUKA, the only course and distance winner in the line-up, began the season over fences but disappointed and hasn't been running well back over timber though has steadily dropped to a very fair mark and has a new combination of headgear. He's handed a speculative vote though Golden Spear, who was well beaten in this last year, has made great strides subsequently. He hasn't been seen since a convincing victory at Down Royal in November but his trainer knows how to get one ready. Willie Mullins has four entries and the four-year-old La Sorelita may prove best of them from the bottom of the weights. Raya Time has been going well in minor company and along with Konitho takes a big step-up in grade though the latter was nowhere near his best last time after beating a huge field of maidens at Naas. Nick Gifford sends Belargus from the UK after landing a four-year-old hurdle at Ascot and he's one for the shortlist.
