Verdict

BACHASSON won this in 2018 beating Darasso just over two lengths with Scarpeta in third. He's continued in excellent form and though his last two victories have been over fences at Clonmel he's just as adept over timber and can complete a hat-trick. The runner-up, who will be 8lb better off compared to two years ago, has raced over fences the last twice and should do better back over timber. Scarpeta ran poorly on his return to action at Clonmel so may be best watched but City Island once looked like being a championship contender having completed a hat-trick by beating Champ in the Ballymore at Cheltenham last year.
