Verdict

Raselasad is a tempting prospect as he's clearly going the right way and should progress further after just three runs, the last of which saw him go close at Carlisle on ground forecast for this contest. However, he's yet to operate over a mile and HUGIN (NAP) is preferred. In contrast, the Simcock raider drops down a couple of furlongs from his last run at Haydock in a much better race and his previous third to Fire Brigade over the mile on the Lancashire track reads as the best form on offer. He's been left alone by the handicapper and should run well. Devil's Bridge is respected off joint-topweight with the selection and makes the shortlist alongside Heir of Excitement, full of consistency and only denied last time by the narrowest margin in a battling Catterick finish.
