        Verdict

        Michael Jarvis has found a good opportunity here for Compromiznotension to break his maiden tag, with Five Two, Our Sheila and Ruse others to consider for the frame. The selection showed that he handles quick ground at Folkestone last time out when improving on his juvenile effort to finish just half a length adrift of Days Of My Life last week. He is open to more improvement and sets a standard here that we don't expect the others to match. Mick Channon is in cracking form and saddles Five Two here. The Mark Of Esteem gelding will appreciate hearing his hooves rattle and has shown a fair level of form in two starts so far, suggesting he may come off next best. Our Sheila is proving expensive to follow and looks tripless at present. However, her smart connections are persevering at seven furlongs and we won't have to wait long to find out if they are right. Of the others few make appeal, but Ruse is one to make a note of after gradually getting the hang of her Southwell debut in the winter and she looks a likely improver with a few more months on her back. But Compromiznotension is the one to beat here.
