Verdict
Spitting Image looks fairly well treated on his return to handicapping, but this may rest between Lucky Judge and Vicious Prince, with the last named getting the vote. The form figures of the selection don't look too inspiring but they belie the fact that he has been showing signs of a return to form. He was only beaten four lengths behind Loves Travelling in a much more valuable handicap at Carlisle last time, and can go close in this weaker affair. Spitting Image finally got his head in front when beating Red Scorpion here last month. His subsequent defeat by Sonoma also reads well as the third, a previous winner, was some eleven lengths behind. Lucky Judge looks best of the remainder having beaten Quedex in good fashion at Newcastle last time. Not the easiest races to assess but Vicious Prince has strong claims and gets the verdict.
