Verdict
The selection here is FARMER GILES, but that comes with the usual caveat of check the market, given there are five debutantes in the field of nine, of which Avonrose looks interesting, and further improvement from Ignatieff can't be ruled out. Farmer Giles improved from debut over this trip to finish runner up second time out; a similar step up in performance could be enough to land this for Michael Bell's runner, who's got some fancy entries for later in the year, including a Group One race in Ireland. The low draw's a negative though. Mark Johnston bought Avonrose for 20,000 guineas in the autumn, and she's entered for a listed race here in October. Richard Fahey does well here and has a debutante in Orpen Arms, who could be absolutely anything, but she's got the advantage of a decent draw. Ignatieff has improved in his last couple of runs, and has tons of speed, and an entry for Newbury's Super Sprint in July. Support in the market should be noted, but with some experience and a bit of form already in the locker, we'll side with Farmer Giles.
