          Verdict

          Not as open a nursery as the big field suggests and we can narrow it down to Lewyn, Duke Of Rainford and our pick WATCH CHAIN. The Mark Tompkins-trained selection has built up some rock solid form in recent weeks, running well in defeat in a nursery at Bath before winning at Southwell and putting in another good effort over 6f at Folkestone last time. Fast ground suits and the drop back in trip won't inconvenience him, so we will take him to come good again. Duke Of Rainford won a soft ground Haydock nursery in July and having slipped in the weights he ran well at Kempton on Wednesday behind Italian Tom. He is much respected here. Lewyn has been given a mark of 65 for this nursery debut after three reasonable maiden efforts and Kevin Ryan has chosen this moment to apply first-time blinkers. She certainly needs to be checked out in the market as she is likely to be a leading player. Seb Sanders is an interesting booking for the first time on Val C, who has made the frame in maidens and nurseries and will appreciate a 1lb drop here, which can help her get competitive. Social Grace can probably prove best of a moderate remainder, but the vote goes to Watch Chain.
