Distant Country caught a tartar last Sunday at Doncaster in the shape of Ace Of Hearts and with no such dangers he can land this event ahead of Mr Velocity and Efidium. Lynda Ramsden's gelding ran near to his best in that Doncaster race showing a willing attitude in the closing stages. This step down in trip looks likely to suit and Robert Winston's booking looks positive. Mr Velocity has shown his best form on an easy surface and is generally a consistent type. If Distant Country fails to deliver he holds every chance. Efidium generally runs decent efforts at this track and is a specialist seven furlong horse. A reproduction of his recent York win will see him go close but he may not get the race run to suit. Distant Country then is the selection with Mr Velocity likely to give him most to do.
