Danehill Desert has finished second on five occasions this year but a strike-rate of 1-18 is off-putting. Ganton Par is worth a market check in this as he showed signs of life last time at Newcastle while Mable Lee has gone close of similar marks at Musselburgh and Catterick recently. Tadaany won at Hamilton last month but then finished last at Ayr. We’ll take a chance on GILMER, who has probably been running better than form figures would suggest this year. Stef Keniry’s gelding has plummeted down the handicap over the last 12 months and may benefit from a first-time visor.
