      Verdict

Goodricke is the pick over New Seeker, Suggestive, Vortex and Great Britain. Godolphin have not exactly been firing in the winners left, right and centre of late, but their double-pronged attack on this prize can pay off with the fitter Goodricke preferred to Great Britain. Successful in the Group 1 William Hill Sprint Cup for David Loder last September, the son of Bahamian Bounty was a costly failure on his first start for the boys in blue at Yarmouth 18 days ago, starting at odds of 1-4 but trailing in a well beaten fourth of six. There were valid reasons for that defeat though, not least the ground, lack of a run, and the fact that he could not get any cover to deliver a late effort. Hopefully all those negatives will be rectified here, and it is hoped that he can turn the tables on the Yarmouth runner-up Vortex and open his account for his new connections. New Seeker beat Vortex in a Listed race at Newbury last September, and although beaten in good company since, has a chance on that line of form, while Great Britain in turn is held on that form, having finished fourth at the Berkshire track, and has an absence to overcome anyway. In the belief that things will fall right for him, Goodricke gets the nod.
