      Verdict

      ARCAMANTE finally came good when scoring over today's trip at Catterick last month. He is preferred to Politbureau, who romped home in a lower grade handicap at Ayr a fortnight ago but has been upped 8lb. Tuscan Gold finished runner-up over track and trip last time with Lady Yeats well beaten but it was soft ground on that occasion while Chepstow winner Shadows Ofthenight failed to cope with a 6lb rise last time albeit in better company than this at Ascot.
