In depth

Verdict

Final hasn't won since March 2017 but has generally competed at a higher level and is on his lowest mark since the previous year. Chebsey Beau scored over this trip at Musselburgh in September and over hurdles there on New Year's Day, though hasn't run since three weeks later. WAR BRIGADE needs some give in the ground and found fast going against him at Salisbury. His previous two runs give him a real chance of doubling his winning tally on the Flat. Auxiliary scored over 1m4f on soft ground at York then found 2m on fast going beyond him on a return visit so connections will be hoping for more rain. Stormin Tom is a course and distance winner and is 13lb lower, though he hasn't been staying 2m this season.
