Verdict
Starcross Maid has lost no caste in defeat behind Oldenway in claimers in his last two starts and, against some moderate looking rivals is taken to resume winning ways at the main expense of Ben Bacchus and Hezaam. The last mentioned has given no real sign of encouragement of late but has been given a chance by the handicapper and is dropped into this grade for the first time. Bint Il Sultan remains a maiden, while Shaheer has disappointed over hurdles of late and may be best watched on his return to the flat. Pitsi Kahtoh, who has been running in banded races, went better in a handicap at Leicester last time and is due to go up 10lbs in future handicaps so has to be of interest but he may have been flattered by that run and the handicapper may have over reacted to that effort. Ben Bacchus is better than he showed in the soft at Chepstow last time and has to be considered but preference is for Starcross Maid, who is taken to resume winning ways.
