        Verdict

        Akavit only weakened close home when fourth at Goodwood last time having won earlier at Chepstow. Callum Shepherd takes off 3lb again and he looks the danger to PUMBLECHOOK. Silvestre De Sousa teams up with old guv’nor Mark Johnston on the recent Pontefract third, who should relish this first try at 2m being out of a mare who once finished fourth in the Prix Royal-Oak. Stormin Tom justified favouritism in this last year when only a pound lower but, like stablemate Medina Sidonia, has been out of sorts so far this season. Cavalieri is upped in grade so Ingleby Hollow could be the pick of the remainder.
