        Verdict

        A three-year-old won this last year but older horses have generally held sway and The King's Steed is hard to fancy. Some rain wouldn't have come amiss for TADAANY but David O'Meara's charge may be good enough to defy his penalty and welter burden after getting back to winning ways at Ayr. Janaab remains nicely treated, despite winning at Haydock in June, and is preferred to frustrating stablemate Relight My Fire. Nottingham runner-up Venutius makes more appeal than maiden Midlight of the others.
