In depth
Verdict
A chance is taken with Fadeyev who is preferred over Reem Al Fallah and Lafontaine Bleu; while Surprise Pension is an interesting newcomer to bear in mind if he is supported before the off. The last named is sure to improve as he gains in experience and, as he is likely to need further in time, he is one to keep tabs on from here. Lafontaine Bleu showed improved form at Carlisle last time and looks ready for this step up in trip. She has 'nursery handicap' written all over her and is also one for future reference. Reem Al Fallah teams up with in-form jockey John Egan and will be a popular choice after her close second at Bath last time. Mick Channon has a good record at this course and it may be significant if this daughter of Cape Cross captures the imagination of the on course punters. However, Fadeyev also represents a yard that know the time of day and, having shown ability in each of her previous starts, she looks an ideal proposition to deliver at the third time of asking.
