Verdict
Greenwich Meantime can beat Prairie Sun, Saida Lenasera, and Hernando's Boy in a tight little handicap. The step up to two miles may bring about a return to the winner's enclosure for Greenwich Meantime who is nothing if not consistent. Lynda Ramsden's five-year-old had dropped to a reasonable mark when scoring over a mile and a half at Doncaster in March, and as that was an apprentice event, he lined up with no penalty at Catterick next time. However, he failed to take advantage in finishing second to Far Pavilions and ran off his revised mark when put in his place by Feed The Meter on a return to Town Moor last week. Both his recent conquerors are useful though, and he should be in at the finish here. The slight concern would be if any more rain turned it soft, but otherwise he should again run his race. Saida Lenasera followed a win on good ground at Southwell with placed efforts at Nottingham and Beverley, and he should handle any cut that might occur, but Prairie Sun much prefers fast ground. He is in great form though, having added to a win over hurdles with two Flat victories under Saleem Golam. He now shoulders a six-pound penalty though and will find this tougher to hold off Hernando's Boy, whom he had less than three lengths behind at Catterick. The longer trip will suit the latter, but we still prefer the claims of Greenwich Meantime.
