Verdict
With Kevin Ryan's team in good form of late, Coleorton Dane may be the one to be on, with Word Perfect, Generous Option and Zomerlust others to enter the equation. Those mentioned all have sound chances in the nursery but Coleorton Dane is selected to add to his Musselburgh success. The son of Danehill Dancer made all at the Scottish track, and as he was coming to the end of his tether at the finish, the drop back to six furlongs could be a wise move. In the hope that he will handle the ground, the gelding is taken to score before being aimed at Doncaster's valuable October Yearling Stakes. Word Perfect never got going on her last visit here but had earlier opened her account over five furlongs on the track before beating Bibury Flyer at Doncaster. That form was not bad, and with Kieren Fallon booked to ride, she can be fancied despite topweight. Generous Option failed to give her best on fast ground when third to The Crooked Ring at Ayr, and had the best of the draw when scoring at Nottingham earlier. She likes soft ground though and is not to be ruled out. Zomerlust won a maiden over the course and distance last time and might not be badly treated for his handicap bow, while Brooklime was down the field behind a stablemate of the selection at Newmarket, and may be set to suffer the same fate again here, with Coleorton Dane the one to be on.
