Verdict

Back at the scene of his career-best win FASTNET STORM is suggested to repeat that success of last season from 1lb higher on ground that he loves. Tom Tate's four-year-old showed signs of a return to form last time, is well drawn, and is clearly able to act on the undulations that have often prevented others from winning here. Be Invincible is an obvious danger. He went close in a similarly competitive York contest at the Ebor Festival, though the Barry Hills inmates are not fully firing at present, which is offputting. Ailsa Craig has enough ability for this grade but has to prove her stamina over this far and a better proposition looks to be Bollin Dolly, though the handicapper is asking plenty of her. There should be little to choose between Norwegian Dancer and Mirrored on their Beverley running, though Fastnet Storm is preferred.
